Nets trade Jeremy Lin to Hawks

Lin told the Nets website earlier this week that he has yet to participate in full-contact drills as he rehabs the injury.

The Brooklyn Nets have been active in the trade market this season and trading away point guard Jeremy Lin was one of their plans from the start of the summer, according to Anthony Puccio of Nets Daily.

It is unclear what else the Nets will receive in return.

For Brooklyn, the Denver trade was about using its cap space to acquire the protected first-round pick in 2019 to pair with its own and the unprotected 2020 second-round pick. The 29-year-old tore his right patellar tendon in the first game of the 2017-18 season and missed the rest of the year.

In 67 games last season, Schroder averaged a career-best 19.4 points per game, in addition to 6.2 assists and 3.1 rebounds.

Since leaving the Knicks, Lin has played with the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, the Charlotte Hornets and the Nets. Both are entering the final years of their contract.

The Nets had acquired Whitehead in a draft night trade with Utah in 2016.
