Raiders trade back, select OT Kolton Miller

With the No. 15 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Raiders selected Kolton Miller, offensive tackle out of UCLA after a trade down.

The Raiders had the 10th pick overall but traded down to 15th overall.

In moving back five spots in the first round, the Raiders also acquired the Cardinals' third-round (No. 79 overall) and fifth-round (No. 152) picks. Instead, they added more protection for Derek Carr.

Granted, NFL Media analyst Lance Zierlein did have Miller graded out as a first-round player, but Easterling has Miller graded out as his No. 8 selection at offensive tackle. Gruden replaced the fired Jack Del Rio after a disappointing six-win season and was given a 10-year contract to become the head of the organization. But starting left tackle Donald Penn is 34 and expectant right tackle Vadal Alexander had played just 24 games (nine starts) in his two seasons in the NFL. The 6-foot-9, 309-pound Miller was injured after making five starts at right tackle in 2016 and missed the rest of the season, then moved to the left side to protect Josh Rosen's blindside in 2017.

I think he's the best tackle in the draft, but they have so many defensive needs. No one else from those classes has made a major impact yet.
