Brett Brown shies away from singling out one game.

Myles Turner scored 25 points, including two clutch free throws with 21.5 seconds remaining, and the Indiana Pacers beat the Philadelphia 76ers, 101-98, on Tuesday night (Wednesday, Manila time) in a possible Eastern Conference playoff preview.

"We're going into this game thinking this is an important game. I said that to the team - rarely do I go there".

With the setback, the Sixers fell 3.0 games behind IN in the Eastern Conference standings, and saw their streak of 13 consecutive victories IN South Philadelphia come to an end. They had won 13 consecutive games here.

But the Sixers had an opportunity to win. That gave the Sixers the ball with 7.6 seconds. Embiid missed on a 3-pointer at the top the key. The referees called for a jump ball. After it was tipped, the ball went off a Sixer on the baseline with 0.3 seconds left. As a result, IN (40-28) owns the tiebreaker should both team finish the regular season with the same record.

Tuesday's outcome also gave IN a win IN the season-series with the Sixers, two games to one.

Jrue Holiday added 25 points, as the Pelicans ended a two-game losing streak to be fifth in the west.

Joel Embiid had a game high 29 points, which included two monster dunks later in the game for the 76ers. The All-Star did, however, have eight turnovers. Robert Covington manufactured a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double. Through 64 games, the 6-foot-10 big man is averaging solid numbers of 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 30.6 minutes. Saric added 18 points for the Sixers.

Emre Can transfer to Juventus hits major snag for two reasons
It's with a mix of confidence and mistrust that the Turin media has been following the Emre Can saga every day. That would certainly be a big blow for Juve, who would see Can escaping from their hands.

Redick and Saric had 11 apiece for the Sixers.

The Sixers lost the opening tip but scored first in the game after J.J. Redick curled around a screen and hit a mid-range jumper. The Pacers signed him for the remainder of the season on March 3. He had five points and six rebounds in 17 minutes, 27 seconds. Cory Joseph (13), Victor Oladipo (11), Lance Stephenson (11), and Darren Collison (10) also reached double figures for Indiana.

The Sixers cut the Pacers lead down to five after Redick hit a three and a Marco Belinelli completed a three-point play. Then Saric knotted the score at 71 on a 3-pointer with 5:23 remaining in the quarter.

But the Pacers responded with a 9-0 run to get a little cushion.

However, things started to get heated as the Sixers mounted a comeback. The center collided into Domantas Sabonis underneath the basket. Sabonis had to be helped to the locker room - where he was diagnosed with a sprained left ankle - and did not return.

Ilyasova then drew his second charge of the game, this time against a driving Stephenson.

The home squad pulled within two points (83-81) on Embiid's fadeway jumper with 10:41 left.

Like in the first half, once Ben Simmons left the floor to take a rest the Pacers began to extend the lead. The Sixers battled back into the game and almost pulled out the victory.
