Seattle has reached an agreement on a three-year contract extension with Bradley McDougald.

"The Seahawks are making the move because they and Shead both went into this offseason expecting him to be a free agent after he played last season on a one-year deal", wrote Seahawks reporter, John Boyle. So if his contract were to toll, he'd be signed for 2018 at the same amount.

Shead's agent, Cameron Foster, told ESPN that the National Football League recently informed the Seahawks that Shead's contract was going to toll.

With Chancellor's future remaining cloudy due to a neck/nerve injury, re-signing McDougald was viewed as a priority for the Seahawks and he becomes the first of the 16 players on the team who could become unrestricted free agents this week to re-sign.

Assetmark Inc decreased Unitedhealth Group Inc Com (NYSE:UNH) stake by 51,411 shares to 66,616 valued at $13.05 million in 2017Q3. Crow Point Prtnrs Ltd Liability Corp holds 0.01% of its portfolio in Sarepta Therapeutics , Inc. (NASDAQ:SRPT) for 69,099 shares.

"They called me and they said, 'Just giving you a heads up that we're going to release DeShawn on Monday, but that doesn't mean we don't want him, '" Foster told ESPN's Brady Henderson. That means we are living up to our word and we're going to release him, otherwise his contract would be required to toll.' So kudos to the Seahawks for doing the right thing.

The Seahawks signed McDougald to a one-year, $1.8 million deal in free agency last offseason, adding depth and experience at safety while providing Seattle with the ability to use a third safety (instead of a third cornerback) in some big nickel packages.

He started games against Washington and Arizona at mid-season at free safety in place of Earl Thomas, then started the rest of the season at strong safety when Chancellor was injured late in the win at Arizona. "We'll see what happens".
