Medvedev said Russia-US relations now are "at the lowest point in decades", and "our relations have degraded day after day".

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Tuesday he met U.S. President Donald Trump at the ASEAN summit in Manila earlier this week, calling him "open and well-meaning person", RIA news agency reported on Tuesday.

"Definitely, we are ready to expand our political, economic, cultural ties, as well as our cooperation in fighting terrorism thru arms supply".

Duterte began his remarks by thanking Russian Federation for the 5,000 Kalashnikov assault rifles it gave to the Philippine military.

The President also brought up the topic of two Russian nationals namely Yuri Kirdyushkin and Anastasia Novopashina, who are now detained in the Philippines due to drug-related charges. "This means that in fact our relationship will be undermined for decades to come", Dmitry Medvedev said.

"I would just like to say that we have a working functional justice system here and they will get a fair trial and that they will be detained in a comfortable house", he said.
