Zendaya Will Play 1st African American Woman to Graduate From Vassar Fatima Barrie

Disney "It" girl, Zendaya is a boss.

Thanks to Zendaya and Witherspoon, A White Lie will be headed by its all-woman team: women producers, a female star, and a woman writer and screenwriter. She will also take part in the SPIDERMAN: HOMECOMING sequel, reprising her role alongside Tom Holland. And then there's A White Lie, which is much more A Great and Terrible Beauty and much less K.C. Undercover, much as Zendaya must also play a woman undercover-albeit a very different, and much more high stakes, version of undercover.

Variety has reported that the duo are taking on the story of Anita Hemmings-the first African American woman to graduate from Vassar College-where Zendaya will take on the starring role. Hemmings story is remarkable.

What Does The Data Behind The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE:KO) Suggest?
After $1.48 actual EPS reported by PepsiCo, Inc. for the previous quarter, Wall Street now forecasts -12.16% negative EPS growth. Currently, 4.23 billion total shares are owned by the public and among those 4.23 billion shares have been available to trade.

In the film, based on Karin Tanabe's book The Gilded Years, the 21-year-old actress will portray Anita Hemmings, a light-skinned descendant of slaves who passed as white to access educational opportunities she wouldn't otherwise have. However, while attending Vassar, Hemmings' cover is blown a few weeks before graduation, when her roommate at the institution begins to grow suspicion. Monica Beletsky is penning the script.

Deadline reports that Witherspoon's production company, Hello Sunshine, will produce a new psychological thriller titled A White Lie.

Zendaya can also be seen in The Greatest Showman, co-starring with Hugh Jackman, which premieres on December 20.
